Is there a cost to attending AZ Academy of Leadership?
No. AZ Academy of Leadership is a FREE charter school. There is no tuition to attend.
What is a charter school?
Charter schools are public, state-funded schools. Charter schools were created through legislation in 1994. Charter schools contract with the State Board for Charter Schools, or a district to provide an education service. Charter schools cannot charge tuition.
What is the curriculum at AZ Academy of Leadership?
AZ Academy of Leadership follows the Arizona state standards, while simultaneously receiving Leadership Instruction.
Is there a mandatory dress code for the students attending AZ Academy of Leadership?
The school uniform dress code attempts to develop student standards of dress that reduce the appearance of materialism/class status and that encourage a disciplined learning environment.

What type of lunch program does AZ Academy of Leadership offer?
AZ Academy of Leadership offers a lunch program available for purchase on a prepay basis. For students who qualify, lunch will be available for free or at a reduced cost.
Are the teachers at AZ Academy of Leadership certified?
Yes. AZ Academy of Leadership is in compliance with the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) guidelines. Occasionally, we may choose to hire a teacher who is in compliance with NCLB and who possess outstanding skills and experience yet they are not state certified.
What is the maximum number of students allowed per class?
Our classrooms are limited to 20 students.
Do you have a block schedule?
Yes. AZ Academy of Leadership uses a block schedule for both Language Arts and Math. Language Arts and Math instruction takes place for 90 minutes on a daily basis.
Will my student be able to receive special education services at AZ Academy of Leadership?
All students who enroll at AZ Academy of Leadership go through a 45-day screening, where the teachers evaluate the student's educational needs. Students who are found to need Special Education services, as well as those who transfer with services previously in place, are tested as needed and the appropriate services are given.
Are there any before and after-school activities at AZ Academy of Leadership?
Yes. Organized activities are continually developed by faculty and staff.
