Leadership at AAL
Principal/President - Tonya R. Strozier, M.Ed.
Mrs. Strozier, is a mother of five who has spent more than fifteen years working with children in both the public and private sector. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona and subsequently went on to earn two Master's degrees from Northern Arizona University in Educational Leadership and Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Strozier is a certified K-8 teacher with special endorsements in Early Childhood Education and as a Reading Specialist. In addition, she is a state certified Principal.
Through the years of working with children, Mrs. Strozier found that children lacked the development of leadership skills that were definitely in them. Moreover, Mrs. Strozier's passion for community service was solified while serving two terms as an AmeriCorps member. Through this experience she was able to experience, first hand, the tremendous benefits to those who serve and the ones being served. With these two critical elements in mind Mrs. Strozier decided to create a marriage between the two - Leadership and Service. Thus, students would learn leadership skills in the educational setting and put them to work through service.
With high academic expectations in place and a focus upon Leadership and Service, Arizona Academy of Leadership was created.
